Previous to this, he was the governor of Georgia. He came intopresidency in 1977. As president he was involved in many domestic and foreign issues. He increased the number of [[#|[[#|jobs]]]] in the United States, as well as helped control the [[#|[[#|energy]]]] shortage that was occurring during his time. In other countries [[#|[[#|around the world]]]], he is well known for the Camp David Accords, in which he contributed in forming a peace agreement between the rival countries of Israel and Egypt, that stands to this day. The shah was a strong ally since World War 2. When the Shah entered the United States the Iran’s seized the American embassy keeping 52 American's hostage until there demands were met. This was known as The Iran . One of the demands was to return Shah for a trial, the return of the Shah’s money to be distributed to the Iranian people, an apology from the United States for its past actions in Iran and a promise that the United States would not interfere in the future. This affected Jimmy Carter greatly and he then left office. After he left the hostages were released. After the hostage crisis Jimmy Carter he establised the which focuses on world-wide health care including the campaign to eliminate guinea worm disease. He is also involved in other political affairs in the United States and the rest of the world. Jimmy Carter is still alive and has is about 82 years old. Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Prize for Peace in December, 2002 “..for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.
