C.I.A- An acronym for Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA was established in 1947. The CIA is responsible on securing the nation and providing information on different safety measures, as well as intelligence. The members of the CIA are nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The CIA's mission is to collect and break down foreign "intelligence" to help the US government and the President in making decisions that relate to CIA.jpgnational security. Some cases they have to figure out are what plans terrorists are planning or how foreign countries have chemical or nuclear weapons and their plans on using them. They collect newspapers, magazine articles, radio and television broadcasts, the satellite up in space which lets them take in information. The CIA is responsible in in writing down all the information they receive in to a "President's Daily Brief (PDB) which they give the US president and senior officials. The CIA doesn't make policy recommendations that is the job of the Senate Select Committee of Intelligence, who are also responsible in authorizing programs and making sure everything is in check.

  • The National Clandestine Service- is responsible for collection of foreign intelligence dealing with information on terrorism, weapons and military in other countries
  • The Directorate of Intelligence- produces reports and papers after analyzing foreign intelligence issues.
  • The Directorate of Science and Technology- they solve problems dealing with science and engineering after gathering information on the problem. (Programmers and dealing with technology)
  • The Directorate of Support- They protect and give support such as financial management, informatioon on technology and medical services to help the CIA improve its work.
