SWINE FLU/ H1N1/ INFLUENZA PORCINA

Swine Flu also named and known as H1N1 has been a real problem around the world recently and has now spread to almost every continent. The swine flu is ubiquitous to say the least as of Spring 2009 in the media.
The flu is a real problem in Mexico and has now reach the United States. People have reported having flu like symptoms and having high fevers. The death rate is really high in Mexico and has said to claim lives from the new disease. Although there have been only about 2 deaths on American soil people are still worried about it spreading throughout the country. The one state that has been hit hard is New York. School's have closed throughout New York and most of the cases are located in Queens where school have been closed for a certain amount of time until the school is cleaned and said to reopen until they say it is safe to return to schools. Many things are now affected due to it. Flights from Mexico to the U.S are very cautious and said that upon arriving people have to wear masks to prevent spreading it or catching it. Altough there is no cure or vaccine for the disease they are doing whatever they can before people get infected and possibly die from the flu.

People are fearful that history will repeat itself, with the 1918 epidemic in mind

Today, March 23rd, 2009 the swine has reached the schools in the United States. There have been many cases of the swine flu in new york, but no one has died. It has been noticed that the people who are dying of this epidemic have a history of many medical illnesses that makes it harder for thier bodies to sustain the swine flu and recover.
